About the show
The world's most popular history podcast
The Rest Is History, produced by Goalhanger, is the world’s most popular history podcast and one of the biggest across the English-speaking world, with over 20 million downloads and views each month.
Hosted by historians Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook, the show dives deep into history’s most dramatic moments and fascinating figures - exploring the stories of great empires, epic battles, and world-changing events.
From the rise and fall of the Roman Empire to the French Revolution, the sinking of the Titanic, and the Norman Conquest of 1066, Tom and Dominic bring the past to life through gripping storytelling and expert analysis.
In 2025, it was announced as Apple Podcasts’ Global Show of the Year - the first time a non-US show had received the accolade.
