How does The Rest is History Club work?
Once you’ve signed up, you’ll get access to a new Rest Is History podcast feed just for members of the club. It lives in your normal podcast app, and episodes will appear as with the regular feed – only without ads, plus weekly bonus episodes that free subscribers won’t have access to. Perhaps most excitingly, the logo is gold instead of red!
It works with almost all the most widely used podcast apps, including Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Overcast, Pocketcasts, Podcast Addict, Castbox, BeyondPod, Downcast, PlayerFM, Breaker, and RadioPublic.
Unfortunately Stitcher, Podbean and NPR One are not supported
Is it easy to sign up for The Rest is History Club?
Very. The easiest way to do it is on the device you usually use to listen to the podcast – for example, your phone. Pick your plan, enter your name, email address, payment details and you’re good to go. You can use any major credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
The chat room sounds cool?
Indeed it does! Members will have access to The Rest Is History Club chat, which is hosted on Discord (a free app available on iPhone, Android or any other device).
You’ll get a link on email to the exclusive community once you’re signed up, and be able to talk to other members, participate in discussions about individual episodes, suggest future episode subjects and much more. Tom and Dominic are in there, as well as the talented and dynamic The Rest Is History production team.
What's the weekly bonus episode going to be about?
All sorts! This is a show for the Club community – we’ll react to the conversations generated by the previous week’s episodes, rate Tom’s latest impression, take questions. Come up with a particularly trenchant observation and you might even get invited on.
Monthly live streamed show?
Once a month, Tom and Dominic will do a special podcast live streamed via Youtube. You’ll get plenty of notice on the time, date and subject matter (usually a weekday evening), and you can contribute questions and comments via live chat. And if you can’t make the time, it will also be available to watch or listen to at your leisure.
What's with the party for Athel-STAN level members?
We’ll host a real-life drinks evening twice a year, with Dominic, Tom and the production team all attending. Think hired room in a pub, most likely in London. The next one is scheduled for November 2022.
And the zoom quiz?
Every three months as an Athel-STAN you’ll be invited to a Zoom call. It will take the form of a quiz, with Tom and Dominic as the quizmasters, and include prizes for the winners and opportunities to talk to the boys directly. Should be a lot of fun!
